What are you missing in our Blogging system?

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the “My feedback” filter and select “My open ideas”.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

      • Ability to hide/customize blog comment fields

Currently the blog comment field always asks for Name, E-mail, URL, and Comment. It fills in defaults for the Name and E-mail for users that are authenticated, but it lets them change them.

In some cases for some extranet/intranet sites, the clients want only the comments field, and the others always forced to the user account info; no anonymous or spoof comment posts. There is currently no way to customize this.

See http://stackoverflow.com/q/8001157/2291 for a discussion on current process on how to write custom module code and web parts to get around this for now.

We suggest you allow for… more

        • Allow blog commenters to choose to display which fields

Add the ability for a user commenting on a blog to check a checkbox to explicitly allow the site to display their E-mail and/or URL field (in addition to their Name and Comment which should really always be shown). Then the comment view web part will automatically show or hide those fields for the appropriate comments based on the comment author's choices.
